Introductory Post
I am a vaper....but I'm not an ex-smoker. I recently started using nicotine as an alternative to psychiatric medication. The possibility of using smokeless nicotine products as medicine had been in the back of my mind ever since I found out that the newest scientific research showed that nicotine in itself, although addictive, is not dangerous, and is in fact both an anti-inflammatory and a neuro-protective agent. It was only recently though that I acquired the necessary level of desperation to actually try it. It's not an easy decision to make. Nicotine has been extensively demonized due to the fact that it is the main thing that get people hooked on smoking cigarettes, but also because it was thought that it was mainly the nicotine that caused smokers to develop cardiovascular problems (we now know that it's mostly the smoke that does that). So the benefits of nicotine are not widely known, and people still take the many ill effects of tobacco smoke to be at least partly attributable to nicotine. For me personally this makes it a difficult task to come out as a vaper, and so far only my fiancee is aware of the fact that I have started using nicotine....Anyway, the purpose of this blog is to act as a means for me to share my experiences with nicotine and other drugs, to share my thoughts on drug use and drug addiction in general, and to share the scientific knowledge I have gathered about these things. I'm hoping that it might be useful to someone.
